These are scheduled courses that meet either in person or online. Students are required to register for these courses when they are scheduled to run. At the conclusion of these courses, students will take the industry exam to receive the certificate.
ServSafe Food Handler Certificate - Online Self-Paced Course This course prepares students for the ServSafe Food Handler Certificate examination. Throughout the course, students go through 5 online sessions including: Food Safety and Personal Hygiene, Controlling Time and Temperature, Preventing Cross Contamination and more. Students have 3 opportunities to pass the ServSafe Food Handler’s exam. The certification is valid for five years.
Home Caregiver Certificate – 8-week In-Class or Online Self-Paced Course This Caregiver course is designed to prepare students with the skills to start an entry-level career as a caregiver providing personal home care for the elderly. Students in this course will gain an understanding of home caregiver services by studying resident rights, how to provide ADLs, record keeping, risk management, and ambulation. Upon successful completion of this course, students are prepared to take the National Caregiver Certification Exam. Flagger Certificate This course prepares students to work in roadway safety services. At the end of the course, students take the Traffic Safety Services Association Certificate [ATSSA] exam to become a Certified Flagger.
Phlebotomy Technician Certificate This course will train students in basic phlebotomy, including collecting blood specimens and venipunctures. It includes theory and hands-on instruction. Upon successful completion of the course, students will take the Certified Phlebotomy Technician exam through the American Medical Certification Association [AMCA].
